Had my first excitement on the trip.

Had my first excitement on the trip. Jumped here and ended up smack dab between these two close binary stars. Heat immediately jumped to 130 and started to climb - fast! I hit the heat sink and nothing happened. It was already damaged. I didn't panic (Although I swore a lot!) and floored it as I watched my panel spark. I managed to get away with no hull damage but nearly every system on the ship received some amount of damage. I lit into my Auto Repair unit after dropping to normal space a safe distance from the pair. Lucky I packed 2 so used some of the first one to fix everything but realize I need to be more careful!

  2. Damn. Glad you came out in one piece.
Be careful, there's a couple more of these on the way.
I've had three or four of them by now, but luckily never ran into trouble.

    Fly safe!

  3. Dennis Wronka thanks, this was certainly the most severe case I've ever had. I have to wonder if the shields saved my hull. It's just incomprehensible that I took no hull damage when heat exceeded 160! I was shocked when the heat sink failed. Just dumb luck I guess.
