I just hit the 3 kly mark. I'm heading for the Lagoon Nebula.

I just hit the 3 kly mark. I'm heading for the Lagoon Nebula.
After that I'll turn towards the Cat's Paw and then that NGC what's his face over there.
From there on I'll have to have another look for further waypoints.
I don't wanna just go to the core, I wanna see a couple of places going there. Mix it up from the endless streams of randomly generated systems.

  1. Well done! I'm currently sitting at your last waypoint from Saturday. I'm quite a bit behind but finding a surprising amount of "stuff" worthy of scanning.

  2. Max Acceleration Yes, there is. But I also had a few times where I had 2 or 3 systems in a row with only one or two stars and nothing else.

Using selective scanning I currently make around 400 ly/h. Mostly giants. Found quite some life and a few water worlds.
Might try to kick into a higher gear between the Lagoon and the Cat's Paw.
All random stars and no real ones makes Jack a dull boy. ;-)

  3. I've found 3 completely undiscovered systems so far. Not even the main star was discovered so i'm assuming I was the first player to ever jump there (and survive the trip back anyway).
Happy hunting! I may meet up with you in the Cats Paw Nebula.

  4. Max Acceleration Quite a few times I came across systems that had the star marked, but nothing else.
One had a life-bearing gas giant within a few hundred ls, scannable during scooping...

  5. There's a whole string of systems all the way to Sgr A* that I visited but didn't even bother to scan the main star, just jump in, point at the next system, jump out. :-)

Scanned them all on the way back but of course none will have my name on. :-(

  6. ollie clark Bummer about the credit on those. I'm sure they took a considerable amount of time to scan too.

  7. Max Acceleration FD gave me some credits to compensate but it's all the first discoveries and my explorer ranking I was bothered about.

  8. ollie clark Yep, shame to loose the "other" kind of credit for your trip but i'm glad you didn't come away empty handed. Sure takes a long time to do a Sag A run! I'm having a blast though! Learning as I go too. Using EDdiscovery2 to record.

  9. Max Acceleration have you had a look at captains log? Does the same thing as ed discovery but i prefer it.

  10. ollie clark I intend to start using it soon.

  11. Max Acceleration It even imports your notes from EDDiscovery. :-)

  12. Reached my goal for the night, to get within 1 kly of the Lagoon Nebula.
Eyelids are starting to get heavy, so I decided to park the Cobra for the night before I do something stupid...
