I'm 5 jumps shy of the 20K line. Because of the server issues yesterday and other tasks I had to attend to I'm running way behind but will try to make the 21K line tonight if possible. Here are my stats so far.
James Dominguez I think your around the 21.5 mark last I saw. Peddle to the metal! I'll catch up if I can tonight. No Internet most of yesterday evening so I've not made much progress.
Yeah, I'm thinking that's a good idea. Even so, I'd like the opportunity to meet non-griefer travellers. I think that'd be really cool, just to meet a random person on the same trip.
James Dominguez I'm considering entering the system in NULL, but switch over to open for a moment to see if somebody's there. Not sure about that though, I don't really feel like risking getting shot at. This trip has been too long to risk it like this. For the same reason I'm still undecided whether or not to fly up to the exclusion zones of the GA and Sag A*.
James Dominguez Dennis Wronka yes, I agree. I'm curious as to other explorers there but i'm cautious to enter OPEN as my ship is pretty defenseless and has sub-standard thursters. I'd be a sitting duck if someone wanted to attack me. I'm very curious though none the less.
James Dominguez I've got the weapons, but a standard hull. I tend to believe that I can run from anything that I can't kill. Sagittarius A* is just an extremely bad place to be proven wrong.
Dennis Wronka Yeah, I agree with you. I did have one time in my Cobra I was proven wrong though. A vulture took me out so fast I had no time to run. I had a mostly A class Cobra but with standard hull, no shield boosters or SCBs. Had B thrusters. Player Vulture took me out before I could flee. He had rail guns or plasma accelerators. Was a learning experience.
Max Acceleration Just at that time you haven't been cruising the galaxy for weeks. I hate being blown up in Sol, how much more would it suck to be blown up out here. It'd certainly take me a while before setting out for another attempt. And I'm hauling around about 8000 Credits of bounty vouchers. Would be a shame to lose those. ;-)
Dennis Wronka Exactly! I lost a lot in cargo (Palladium) and the cost of my Insurance but all that combined was less than a million credits (don't remember how much but seemed like a lot at the time). Nothing compared to having over 8 million in exploration data and then your vouchers on top of that not to mention the insurance and over a month of lost time if we get killed. Yeah, don't want to get killed out in the black for sure. Too much invested at this point.
Jump! Jump! Jump! your Asp Across the galaxyyyy! Verily, verily, verily, verily, You'll never feel so free! 30 jumps from the Cat's Paw Nebula, then I'm hanging a right all the way down the spiral arm to Beagle Point, before swinging back to the Bubble via Colonia. If this doesn't make Aemon Roche (10% Pioneer) Explorer Elite, nothing will!
UNCHARTED SWIRLY THING ALERT!!! Nice to know that there are still untagged neutron stars out there. There's a black hole 4 jumps away. Will be interesting to see if that is unclaimed, too.
For those who want their name added to the Sagittarius A* visitor's list ( https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=159651 ): Remember to take a screenshot showing your right-hand screen, as it contains your Cmdr name, with the black hole in view. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=159651
Still about 8kylrs behind.... Push on - push on
ReplyDeleteI had an intense couple of days to catch up, and I've over-done it. I'm only 1,263 from Annihilator.
ReplyDeleteMicheal May I'm getting there slowly but surely!

ReplyDeleteWould be cool if the 4 of us would manage to meet up at the GA or Sag A* for a photo op.
ReplyDeleteDo we all have our NULL or Mobius access cards at hand?
I am in NULL, though I've never used it.
ReplyDeleteJames Dominguez I plan on using NULL when we got closer to Sag A to prevent any griefer encounters.

ReplyDeleteI have awesome thrusters, strong shields, and even a reinforced hull, but no weapons at all. Left them behind to save weight. :P
