"While I was gone

"While I was gone,
Bowie died, we all cried,
Rickman left, all of us bereft,
The Eagles lost Frey,
yet we still have Bieber, why?"

While it may seem obvious to you all, I don't do poetry.
I don't write rhymes and I never commit anything
remotely like this to paper or screen.

This bloody game has captured me in ways that I can't explain.  I am left to ponder thoughts and images and imagine all kinds of possibilities and stories.

I thought I'd end this Sag A trip with the above verse to end the trip with what's been occupying my my mind.

This trip was amazing and tense and immensely rewarding.  I wouldn't have been able to do it without the constant support and encouragement from those of you on TS and in the pages of G+.  I was inspired by all of you who did it before me and I wanted a little to be closer to you and to be like you all, because I think you're awesome.

  1. Thanks for sharing it.
In my opinion all poetry that manages to convey a feeling is good poetry. And yours did.

And no matter how much support you had here and on TS, you're the one who did the legwork, and all those jumps. You are to be commended for that!
And you did it in about a third of the time it took me to make the trip, which I have to admit I find quite impressive.

I think I can safely speak for the whole group when I say that we're all glad you're one of us.
