So last night my Daughter was so comfortable with her skills in the game she became a bit too cavalier and ended up damaging her SRV (not a problem) and her ship (kind of a problem). It was a hard lesson but I think she will be more careful from here on out. We still have over 20K to go to reach Sag A!
If you need any supplies to fix or update, don't forget to yell out....
ReplyDeleteMost of my damage happened during the first half of my trip there. On my way back almost no hull damage. Take heart. Combination of lessons learnt and the discipline of exploration routine will lead to success. Well done on your progress. Hope there's lots more cool sights and first discoveries for you two.
ReplyDeleteMicheal May Thanks! Really appreciate the offer! We're actually good on supplies for now. Her hull is 91% but no real way to fix that. She spun her ship for fun too close to the ground without a shield. She had accidentally set shield priority to 3 and deployed her hardpoints. Lesson learned.
ReplyDeleteIan Stoffberg Sometimes I play it too safe and don't goof off when it's probably OK to have some fun. I've actually never taken hull damage while exploring but some of that may have just been luck. I wanted my Daughter to make this trip entirely on her own so I think this was a good lesson for her but I am sad about her hull damage. Hope she makes it to Sag A and Jaques Station and then home again. It will thrill her when she finally arrives!
